Earth Science Laboratories ships AlgaeShield to hurricane-ravaged areas
ESL donates algaecide for cleanup efforts in areas of Florida and Puerto Rico still recovering from hurricanes Irma and Maria.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Earth Science Laboratories (ESL) recently shipped 500 bottles of AlgaeShield® algaecide to areas of Florida and Puerto Rico recovering from hurricanes Irma and Maria. Power loss and storm damage complicate cleanup efforts in these areas. Without adequate filtration, pools at homes, apartment complexes, and hotels remain deep green with algae.
AlgaeShield’s unique properties make it ideal for locations with standing water. It disperses rapidly, killing algae for up to a month in pools with little or no circulation. Each quart-sized bottle donated by Earth Science Laboratories contains enough AlgaeShield to treat algae in an average-size pool for 30 days.
“Our hearts go out to everyone who suffered loss and damage from the recent hurricanes,” said Earth Science Laboratories CEO David Nicholas. “Cleaning up swimming pools may not be a high priority right now, but it is an area where we can help. With AlgaeShield at work, residents can focus on restoring homes and livelihoods.”
Earth Science Laboratories is donating enough AlgaeShield to treat approximately 500 swimming pools. The company has partnered with Poolcorp, an independent pool supply distributor, to fulfill the donation. PoolCorp will deliver the bottles of AlgaeShield to affected areas.
Earth Science Laboratories Inc. develops innovative products for use in municipal and recreational water management. All ESL products are EPA registered and NSF Certified to ANSI Standard 60 for use in drinking water.
