Earth Science Laboratories adds key hire to Agricultural Division

Earth Science Laboratories hires industry veteran to run rapidly expanding agricultural division.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Earth Science Laboratories (ESL) is expanding with the addition of Louisiana native and agricultural industry veteran Tim Ford. Ford joined ESL in September as Business Manager for the company’s Agricultural Water division. He has since moved swiftly to prepare the division for growth and a slate of new product launches.

A lifelong farm kid, Ford grew up on the cotton fields of northeast Louisiana. After receiving a BS in Agricultural Business from Louisiana Tech University, he moved to Florida to work as a soil fumigation specialist. He returned to the Delta region as a technical sales representative specializing in insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. In his most recent position as Innovation Specialist at BASF he worked directly with growers to protect crops and increase yields.

“Tim has 32 years in the industry and an unmatched reputation,” said CEO David Nicholas. “This makes him the ideal person to lead our growing ag division. We are proud to have him at ESL.”

Ford added that ESL’s chemistry attracted him to the position. “Our formulas have an amazing range of applications. Right now, we’re developing ways to protect catfish from ram’s horn snails and rice from tadpole shrimp. The potential to help growers in almost every sector of the ag industry is remarkable for a small company. That’s what hooked me.”

Earth Science Laboratories Inc. manufactures AgriTec algaecide/bactericide for use in agricultural water systems such as irrigation and commercial aquaculture. It is EPA approved and OMRI listed for organic use. Visit eslagritec.com for more information.
